Japan Nuclear Disaster Intro

The earthquake that stuck Japan has produced images of devastation and despair that touches one at the very core of our humanity. The humbling realization that the things we proudly build can be wiped out in an instant by natural forces is almost difficult to comprehend. I personally suggest people donate to help the Japanese people. There has been talk by certain political leaders and television personalities about whether or not we should donate. This mostly stems from the fact that we owe Japan money in the form of national debt. I am fiscally conservative, but times like these are about something bigger than who owes who money. I not talking about the US borrowing money from China on this but individuals donating a few bucks won’t hurt and will actually strengthen relations.

That said, Japan is currently in the middle of what could be the biggest nuclear disaster ever experienced by the human race. This disaster has been compared to Chernobyl or Three Mile Island. I will explain to you why these are not accurate analogies and why this could possibly be far worse.
The most difficult part about writing on this subject is the lack of any accurate source material.

TEPCO(Tokyo Electric Power Company), has been extremely non-forthcoming about the facts on the ground. They were so non-forthcoming that our own lame-stream media is even complaining about it.
To make matters worse, major media outlets in the US have not been any better in their coverage. Do you find it funny that every network in the US has on these “experts” whose job appears to be downplaying the situation? Have you noticed that many of these nuclear “experts” admit they have written books promoting nuclear power? I think someone who has profited from promoting nuclear power, and stands to lose money if the industry takes a hit, is a bad “expert” to have on these shows.

There are physicists and nuclear engineers out there that have expressed far more concern than your being told on television. The only problem is that one must go on a Google Easter egg hunt to find any truth. This category is going to explain why the Fukushima plant has the potential of releasing unprecedented amounts of radiological material into the atmosphere.
