They Won’t Release Bin Laden Photos Because Half Of His Head Is Gone, Duh

Let me tell you a story that may help explain to average folks why Obama does not want to release a photo of Bin Laden’s body. I have be a sport shooter my entire life. My fried once got a new high powered riffle and we thought it would be fun to shoot a new full can of paint (to the environmental folks, don’t bother to send me hate mail on this). I set up the can on a tree stump and walked about 2 football fields away. When I shot it, the paint can flew about 30 feet into the air. I walked backed up to the can and was amazed that the top had been blow off and there was not even on drop of paint left inside.

You see, when a bullet traveling at several thousand feet per second enters a sealed container like paint can, or a skull, the results can be broken down by simple physics. The bullet enters and creates tremendous pressure as it tries to displace the liquid inside. When the pressure of the contents of the container exceed the maximum pressure tolerance of walls of the container, you basically get an explosion.

Navy Seals are not only trained to shoot to kill, they are trained to do it very efficiently. Remember, these guys operate in situations in which they are usually outnumbered. When a navy seal encounters a hostile they fire a grouping of several shots in locations designed to put the target down quickly and permanently. Marines are known for being good shooters. A navy seal participates in more target practice every two weeks in theater than an average marine will practice during a one year tour. The point is that these guys are some of the most accurate shooters in the world.

Osama Bin Laden was a dangerous target. He has said he would not be taken alive before. He was a trained combat veteran from the war with the Soviet Union. Upon encountering him, the seals would have shot him in the head immediately. Like the paint can, his head would basically have exploded. This is why Obama does not want to release a photo. It is not a good idea and showing it is just kinda gross. This is not a movie where bullet holes look like a clean round hole with a little blood coming out. In the real world, half of the skull could be gone. The jaw bone or half the face could be gone.

I know this is gross buts that is the point. There is no reason to be flashing around a photo of a half-headed Bin Laden to satisfy the conspiracy theorists. End of story.
