Sorry Obama, Your Wrong On Israel And About To Lose My Vote

Today President Obama gave a speech outlining his vision and plans for the future of the Middle East and North Africa. I almost fell out of my seat when he suggested Israel return to its 1967 borders. A lot of people do not actually understand what this really means, or the ramifications of such a plan.

If Israel were to return to its 1967 borders, any military strategist worth their salt would agree that Israel’s vulnerability to hostile neighbors, (every country around it), would increase significantly. The country would go from being about 45 miles across, to only 8 miles across. This would make the country nearly indefensible because even the most poorly made Hamas rockets could sail right into most targets in the country.

Palestine is often portrayed as a huge victim of Israeli oppression, but let us look at what is often not reported. Palestine does not even have any single legitimate government for Israel to negotiate with. It is controlled by two leading Islamic factions, Hamas and Fatah. Hamas gets most of its funding from Iran. Iran has manufacture most of the complex IED’s, called shape-charges, that have killed our young men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan. Iran is responsible for more US deaths in the Middle East than any other single country in the world.

What would it mean if Israel were to return to its 1967 borders? First, most of the tourist sites enjoyed by travelers from all over the planet would return to Palestinian control. This includes sites like the Temple Mount, the Wailing Wall, and Old Jerusalem. Currently, Israel allows millions of Muslims, Christians, and Jews to visit these holy sites each year.

How did the predominantly Muslim Palestinians treat access to these holy sites before 1967? The honest answer is, not very good at all. Jews were totally banned, and Christians were given very limited access. If these sites were to return to Palestine there would be two immediate problems. The first problem would arise as a result of Palestine’s inability to provide adequate security to tourists and religious visitors of all faiths. The ongoing civil war between Hamas and Fatah would make any Palestinian controlled region quite dangerous. The second problem would arise from the lack of equal treatment of all religions practiced in almost all Islamic countries. Islamic law actually permits non-Muslims to be taxed up to 75% more as a punishment for their lack of faith. This is true, go ahead and research it.

In conclusion, Obama made a foolish speech today and I am very disappointed with him. I understand that the goal of peace in the region is important. However, its seems Obama finds it easier to attack the more westernized Israelis, than to confront the Palestinians on their never ending shenanigans.

On a humorous note, the Palestinian faction Hamas rejected Obama’s proposal. You see, in the charter of Hamas, they proclaim that Israel does not have the right to exist, period. They will settle for nothing less than a complete extermination of Israel. One man already tried that a half century ago and six million Jews ended up dead as a result. I am sorry Obama but your flat out wrong on this one.

I am from Malaysia and I know Islam and Muslims through and through.

You just do not negotiate with the Muslims. They do not and will never negotiate with good faith.

Do not ever, EVER trust the Muslims !
